Well, Well JT,
I guess one thing for sure can be said about e-mail, maybe even two, first
you can't see the expression on someone's face or the look in their eyes
when reading this and the second is you surely can't hear a tone from a
voice. I have noticed over the years that depending on the person's mood
when reading a letter will surely depend on how it is taken i.e. you can
read a letter someone sent and say to yourself "What is up this person's
butt", go back a day or even hour later and re-read the same letter only to
think something totally different.
Your "proposal" did not say lets have the CC's vote on this, your
"proposal" said let's plug these people in and then the CC's and the
new
SC's can pick the ASC's to assist. Furthermore, if you weren't truly
meaning to be "RUDE", then why shout it at me?
You can take my letter in whatever way you want, obviously you chose to
take it as a personal attack, was never meant to be a personal attack, I
told you I loved your idea about having three, just didn't like the idea of
having people plugged in. To me your letter came across as the following,
whether it was meant to be or not, this is how it was preceived. You went
and decided to contact three people, asked them and they decided to go for
it, so you decided to jump them in and then tell us, this is my proposal
and I already found the three to take it on. My response was not against
you personally, it was against the behind the back crap going on currently
within USGenweb in general and this just seemed to add to it.
No, I have no problem with someone not having anything to do with
Wisconsin coming on in, as you stated the president, a minister, etc. can
do the job they are brought in to do even if they had nothing to do with
the place to begin with. Well, I don't know about where you live, but where
I am at, we vote in the President, not just "propose" the person and then
state we can choose the vice President. Would you tolerate someone saying
we are giving you this president, you can choose the vice president guys,
ok? That isn't ok with me. When a Minister comes into a new church he is
indeed known for what he is going to be doing, or we would hope so anyway,
he should at least have a part in the religion he is preaching. My point,
in case you still have doubts as to what it is, being that we know
something about the President we are electing to serve our country and if
we don't know anything about him/her, we shouldn't be voting for them and
we would hope that the new minister to our church would know about our
particular religion. Also keep in mind that when a new minister does come
to serve is it has been decided on by more than one person, perhaps a
committee?
I know this much, I am not the only CC who feels this way, there are
several I have talked with who feel the same way, perhaps I am the only one
bold enough or maybe even stupid enough to speak what I think and stand up
for what I believe. I just find it real interesting that after the last two
people stepped down within minutes of each other and I spoke up and asked
what was going on, two people I never have even heard from before or spoke
with, e-mailed me to warn me of certain things. I was even warned to watch
whose feathers I may ruffle or it could end up costing me my counties. Now
somehow I really think that USGenweb has lost the whole idea behind what is
going on here, we are suppose to be helping people with their family
genealogy research, not worrying about who has the best of what.
You all go ahead and do whatever, as for me, I am backing out of this and
going back to the reason I took my two counties, to help others find
information, make connections and to provide as much information to help
them as feasible, not bicker about a President, a Minster and three SC's.
