Caflisch Responds ceguse(a)juno.com
I use CCHelper to build my queries. Yearly I pull all of the query email
addresses and send emails out to everyone telling them that any emails
that bounce, associated queries will be removed. I do that and found that
those people that change emails and want their queries to remain useful do
let me know when they have changed providers. I have also started at the
same time to remove older queries. I tell those that have queries older
than 3 years will be removed on a certain date and ask they resubmit their
queries. I got this idea from another coordinator. He felt that in three
years usually some of the information had been received and queries if
needed should be resubmitted.
End of Caflisch Response
How do people handle out of date email addresses on their surname or query
pages? So far I have only changed addresses when someone notified my that
their address had changed, and have not tried to check addresses to make
sure they were current. But every now and then another researcher tries
to contact someone without success.
