Tina-
Just a few thoughts.
1- I would suggest to first start with posting the county up for adoption on
this mail list and maybe the county mail list (if available) in which the
county is up for adoption. Then maybe if there is no interest open it to the
other county mail lists both within and outside of Wisconsin maillist.
2- I personally feel if someone is interested in the county and is the only
one that has expressed interest it need not even be posted.
3- About more than one person being interested in adopting the same county.
I guess I would say first come first serve especially if all or both people
have shown they are interested and capable of doing the page. I would assume
you keep a list of kind if someone expresses interest in a county?
I think you have done a great a job and of course you can't please everyone.

First some background...
On occasion, I have announced that counties are up for adoption, and
placed the "Up for Adoption" link on the County Coordinator's page.
There are many ways that I acquire the knowledge that a CC is no
longer active and/or interested in maintaining their pages.
1. They contact Marcia and/or I. (preferred method).
2. I hear from visitors that material they wish to share with a
county has not been acknowledged or presented, therefore giving me
incentive to investigate.
3. The CC removes his or her pages, and vanishes into the sunset. (my
very least favorite <sigh>).
Reasons for resignation are varied, as I have stated here before, so I
won't belabor the point.
Often times the person contacting Marcia or I is interested in
adopting the county themselves, or makes a recommendation.
I would like to open up a discussion with all of you to address this
issue.
I would like to hear your ideas on:
1. What lists should I post the adoption announcements to?
(currently, I post it only here on WIGEN)
2. Should I post it at all, if I have interest expressed?
3. If I have more than one individual interested in becoming a CC for
a county, what criteria would you all like to see Marcia and I follow
to appoint a new CC?
Currently, I am using my very best judgment in all of the above, and
to be honest, occasionally the decision is tough. I would like some
input. I look forward to hearing your ideas.
