Noted Wisconsin archaeologist John Broihahn will speak at the University
of Wisconsin-Platteville on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. in Le Cafe of
the Ullsvik Center, located at the corner of Main and Hickory streets.
The event, cosponsored by the UWP History Club and Department of Social
Sciences, is free and open to the public.
Broihahn's talk is entitled "Native American Communities in Wisconsin:
An Archaeological View."
Broihahn is an assistant archaeologist for the state of Wisconsin and
works in the historic preservation division of the State Historical
Society in Madison.
He participated in the first state capital dig in Belmont and maintains
maps and a computer database on the nature and location of
archaeological sites in Wisconsin.
