Hi all,
If there is anyone who knows HTML or if you have a book on it can you
please help?
I am transcribing some info for the County Laois Ireland GenWeb. Some of
the Irish place names have an "accent" mark over one of the vowels (I
don't know the correct name for the mark, I think the mark looks like
the 2nd half of the single quote marks)
I don't know how to make this "accent" mark show up in HTML. Is there
some sort of code that I can use for those particular marks over the
letters? How can I do this?
Thanks

Depending on what vowel is concerned - will make the difference in what you
do.
If it is an accent mark over:
a - in your editor, press the 'ALT' tab and type 225, release the 'ALT'
tab
and the letter should appear with the look you want. If it doesn't show in
your editor for some reason, save your file and check it in a browser.
Summarized below:
a - 'ALT' 225
e - 'ALT' 233
i - 'ALT' 237
o - 'ALT' 243
u - 'ALT' 250
A - 'ALT' 193
E - 'ALT' 201
I - 'ALT' 205
O - 'ALT' 211
U - 'ALT' 218
