Thanks Mari .. Let me tell you a story .. My "dad", bless
his heart had
Alzheimer's .. he died at age 83 in 1996. I have a twin brother. I know
logically that Alzheimer's is not a disease to smile about.. it is a
horrific disease, but with all of the stages that Daddy went through... he
was consistent that I was Charlie (Richard) and Charlie was Tina. I truly
felt then and now, close enough!
You're a twin?! My sisters are twins. AND, between mom and dad, counting
in both sides of my family, one day mom and I counted 12 sets. That's just
since 1950!!
Mom's was never diagnosed as such (alzheimers), but every stage was
evident..... It was far more than just dementia as it is normally in the
elderly.
All my best Mari -- Alzheimer's is a disease that robs the family
and the
individual.
It sure does. Robs the whole family of interacting at a time when it's the
most important for both the victim and everyone else. I've had so much
admiration for Nancy Reagan. No one will ever know the hell she went
through! Quite lady. She wasn't a very big person as far as stature
goes, but she sure made up for it in other ways!
The scary thing for us, is that not only mom, one of her nieces, a nephew,
and two sisters were stricken with it also.
Leaves the rest of us kind of a bleak "golden years" to anticipate.
Take good care.
Thanks for understanding!
