Tina,
Thank you very much for this insight! You have reported it in fairness and
impartiality so we have more information to consider in making a personal
decision. This is very much appreciated. Rita

Hi all,
Teresa Lindquist is currently the elected Representative at Large
serving on the USGenWeb Project Advisory Board. She also until
recently was the chair of the Guidelines Committee, a special
committee appointed by the National Coordinator. She resigned from
that committee.
The following day she posted to her website, the contents of all
Board-Exec e-mail since becoming a member of the board. Then over the
course of the next week she added other confidential and committee
postings, including but not limited to Elections Study Committee,
Bylaws Starter Committee and Guidelines Committee.
The Board-Exec list is a confidential, unarchived list of the USGenWeb
Project Advisory Board. It serves the purpose of handling grievances
that are filed by members of the project and conveys personal
information such as vacations, addresses, phone numbers and such of
Advisory Board members. Confidentiality in such matters is
appropriate as individuals reputations and privacy are in the balance.
Teresa, by posting the contents of the list betrayed the trust, of not
only the Advisory Board members, but all USGenWeb Project members, who
had brought concerns and grievances forward. She was declared a
member not in good standing by a motion made by myself, duly seconded
and voted on by the advisory board. Her subscription to the Board-
Exec list was terminated, and role(s) and subscription to all
committee lists/memberships have been terminated. Currently she is
subscribed to the Board-L list in moderated status, meaning
appropriate posts regarding Project business will be forwarded to
appropriate lists. As far as I know, she has chosen not to utilize
that avenue. She is still Representative at Large of the USGenWeb
Project and a member of the Advisory Board.
Some project members felt this was not enough and started a recall
petition of Teresa Lindquist from her seat on the Advisory Board.
There is no specified recall mechanism of Advisory Board members
within the USGenWeb Bylaws.
Having said all of the above, I have not signed the petition, as I am
currently an Advisory Board member, and trying very hard to read,
listen and be able to objectively deal with the petition should it be
presented to the advisory board during the remainder of my term.
