I am hoping because I was verbal and asking questions or voicing concerns
that it was not taken as "cyring wolf" or "whining". I want to be
educated
and informed and in no way want it to come across in that way.
I try to educate myself when it comes to genealogy, USGW, etc. and the only
way I feel I can learn is by being involved.
I too keep plugging away with 90% of the work being done by myself and do
have concerns, but do agree this bylaw revision does not appear to take
anything away from me. I spent time the past couple of days trying to
education myself by reading through USGW pages, the 100's of emails on the
USGW and WI maillist. I have always felt the information I have transcribed,
etc. would be left with the project and do not see where this bylaw at this
time takes the work I have done away from me. I have always worked to get as
much information on the pages for the researcher and will continue to do so.
When reading through all of the emails it is hard to decipher which
information is correct so I have stepped back taken a look at the things I
know myself and I am making the best educated decision for myself. I have
decided to keep my pages where they are, continue to work as I have for the
past 3 (almost 4) years and to learn alot along the way.
I know some times each of us get taken in the heat of the moment and I have
been very surprised and saddened with the comments of some (this is not
directed to anyone personally) that "border on personal attack". This has
certainly made me think twice about what I want to say or if I want to say
anything at all. And I am hoping this does not deter others from commenting
or becoming involved.
I have respected Tina as the Wisconsin SC and feel she continues to do a
great job! I know the decision she made did not come easily.
I hope we can all continue to debate, learn and share without the personal
things.
Have a great day all and if I can help anyone with their personal research,
information for your website, etc. please email. I am a "novice" on the site
but always willing to help when or where I can.
Just my two cents.
