Tonight, I have placed Jan Cortez and Tim Stowell on moderated status
on WIGEN. It is not an action I have taken lightly, nor is it an
action I ever expected to take. I am very disappointed.
Jan's recommendation is entirely inappropriate coming from an
USGenWeb Project Advisory Board member, it is harmful to the USGenWeb
Project. She is an officer of this organization and as such is
charged with upholding the organization and should not seek to
destroy it. Jan serves as our NENC County Coordinator Representative.
Tim Stowell has been moderated on this list as he is addressing
individuals that are not subscribed to this list and who have no way
to defend themselves against his accusations. He is also introducing
topics that lead to further speculation and discontent. He is an
officer of this organization and as such is charged with upholding
the organization and should not seek to destroy it. Tim serves as
SEMA State Coordinator Representative.
The moderation will last for a period of one week.
I am very disappointed.

Actually in reading the proposed change - it wouldn't matter if
you host it on Rootsweb or not - it says the site - not where it
is located.
One must chuckle if they have their site on their own server and
some 'person' from USGenWeb tells them they must leave their data
to the USGenWeb!

Perhaps a stepping stone started when the NC signed a hosting
agreement with Rootsweb - which he knew about in October and
finally decided to let the AB know about it in April.
Since the sister of one of his biggest supporters was giving
advice to the NC back in October on the matter, it does not
take much of a stretch of imagination to know that this person
also knew of the agreement prior to the AB knowing about it.

I doubt that the powers that be will listen to visitors,
since they don't listen to the rank and file now.
