Hi everyone,
Thanks for the great suggestions on how to deal with my whiner....and after
reading Rita's experience with sharing gedcom's, now I know why I don't send
mine out to the relatives (no matter how friendly they seem TODAY)...*Ü*....
Thanks again & welcome to the new co-ordinators!!! You'll find this the best
list out there -- a LOT of talented people work on the Wisconsin GenWeb
Project..."pick their brains" -- I do and learn something new all the time
from them...great group of volunteers!!!

I absolutely agree with Tina and Paula. Send them to the original
source of
the
document to make changes. We are not able to change historic documents. We
are
supposed to take HER word for it? Out of the clear blue? Just because SHE
says
so? This sad soul is taking personal problems out on you rather than
dealing
with the real problem, but that does not help you. I think this may be one
of
those folks who expect to just get the information handed to them,
complete.
There are getting to be more and more of them. Folks who just get (demand)
info
from others and do not actually work to find it. They seem to think that is
genealogy. One thing you can count on, miserable people will always find
someone
else to take their angst out on, and quickly, too. Misery loves company.
You
offered to add her way of spelling the name, that's all we can do. Point
her in
another direction (government) and click, then, let it go.
I got a goodie today as well. Probably shouldn't be miffed, but I just
can't
believe the gaul of some folks. I had very carefully taken the time to send
my
own thoroughly researched descending chart on this family to her, even
though
she is not related, because the families were once very close for several
generations. It did include and explain that all the full dates, death
locations
and burial locations that I was able to obtain were there. Here is what I
received:
hi, rita. can you do me a favor and send me this without generations 5, 6
and 7
(if it's there)? it's too long to fit into my FTM notes section with all
the
extra current day folks!
also, if it's not too much trouble, full birth and death dates (and death
location) and BURIAL location. I don't need the sourcing on this since it
all
gets credited back to you in my FTM file.
Note the big "thank you" for sharing my years of work. I am so tempted to
say
"really busy, no time for doing favors, too much trouble." ;0}
