Hi All,
Jim Williams who is a VA CC pointed out to us that the National USGW
site lacked any mention of Census 2000. We are all aware of the
importance of census data in genealogical endeavors and most of know
that the census has MANY other very important uses besides.
I have created a page for Census 2000 on the USGenWeb National Site.
There is a link from the front page at
http://www.usgenweb.com/ (which
is pretty neat as it has a very nice animated graphic) with a blurb and
then a link to the Census 2000 page I set up. I also link from that
page to the U.S. Census Bureau page. The Census 2000 page is at
http://www.usgenweb.com/census-2000/census-2000.html
It would be great if all of you would link to this page or at least
mention Census 2000 on your state pages. And, if you could pass the
info along on your CC lists, that would be a big help.
Anyone is free to use the graphics. The animated one is great and the
other one is huge! U.S. Census Bureau has a whole site devoted to
publicizing Census 2000 and that is where the logos came from. They
also have a lot of other information.

If someone could pass this along to the Census list, I would appreciate
it. I don't think I have posting ability there.
Thanks so much!
