Hi Marie-
I don't have any answers for you but would be interested in any responses
you get. I am hoping anyone responding to this will respond through the list
so we will all have an idea of how to handle this type of problem.

Subject: [WIGEN-L] Question Accuracy of Donated Information
Date: Sat, 29 Jun 2002 00:23:56 -0500
A person who uses the Rusk County GenWeb site generously offered to forward
some marriage records she had previously transcribed. I was most anxious
to get the information so I could post it, but after receiving it, I'm now
not so sure.
I've found that the information is full of multiple typos. After I found
15 obvious errors, I really started to wonder about the quality of
information I have been given. I'm also wondering about the typos that
aren't so obvious (like an incorrect date...).
Has anyone else ever had this happen to them? If so, what did you do? I
really don't want to post information I believe to be carelessly
transcribed and possibly full of a multitude of errors, but this person has
put a lot of work into this.
