Okay.... I give up. I just ordered "Wisconsin Men of Achievement" in
addition to the MOP and "Notable Men of Wisconsin" I already had... and
although absolutely fascinating, none of them have Mr. SCHLEIF (see below)
in them. Is anyone aware of any other biographical books or can point me in
the right direction? I've pretty much scraped everywhere I could at this
point (well, obviously not EVERYWHERE). Granted... I wouldn't normally spend
this much time on one query, but I'm enjoying the learning process and find
the information valuable myself.

...I'm writing you because there is a book about men of Milwaukee in
the early days, and I saw an index of it that included a relative of mine,
Edward J. SCHLEIF, a dentist ... I'm totally stopped in my research on his
line, and of course have tried to find out what the book said about him,
without success. I really think the name of the book was different from "Men
of Progress", although it was similar. My understanding of it is that it
included biographies of early Milwaukee men...
