The published form is considered copyright...or in other words the way it is
presented. The data and contents are not copyrighted.
The website is copyrighted; the way the contents are presented are
copyrighted, but the data itself is not.
This bylaw addresses the contents of the website alone, not the way it is
presented.
The published format of a plat map is copyrighted. The information
contained on the plat map is not.

Hi Tracy,
I beg to differ on genealogy per se not being copyrightable......my web
sites
are the same form of expression as if I authored a book or any other
published item. Once I take raw data and incorporate in any form, I am the
copyright
owner. There's a plat map company in Wisconsin that reproduces plat maps
--
which are public records at the courthouse....try to tell them they don't
hold
a copyright on them......
