Tracy --
No. 1 -- north side of W. Milwaukee Street (left to right, Leath's
Furniture, ?1, ?2, ?3)
?3 became a theater, I think; not sure which one; looks like
the far right sign says Radio
No. 3 -- Court House, Janesville (the tall white obelisk is a
veterans memorial)

No. 4 -- Adamany's Cafe, 211 W. Milwaukee St. (south side of street);
was in operation ?-1925-1927-?; my dad (who's 71) remembers this
cafe; building still has the tiled front and cool columns
No. 2 & 7 -- same church -- looks typical of German Methodist
churches but the tower is shorter than similar churches in
Janesville; I'll check more on this
No. 5 -- I don't recognize this building at all... possibly Fond du Lac
No. 6 -- too close to tell
I'll send your link to my Rockers and see what they know.

how well do you know your downtown buildings???.
Recently I received these photos from a descendant of Carl Hanneman, who
worked first in Janesville, and then in Fond du Lac in the 1920's.
I only think I can claim the 'Cafe' photo, with the word Cafe in the window,
so if you know Janesville, can you confirm any of these old buildings are
there??

please let me know if you recognize anything.
However, I have to warn you, many buildings, especially the church, look so
familiar that you want to claim them, but on closer inspection, the
architectural details just don't match.
Wish I knew just where these buildings are!
