The message boards and mailing lists do not fall under the
auspices of WIGenWeb Project. I posted the USGenWeb (and
WIGenWeb) guidelines because I wasn't clear if Shelly as
asking as a CC or as a list/board administrator. With the
USGenWeb guidelines and the RW policy that Timm posted, my
experience as taught me to be leery of allowing fund
solicitation in the work we do.

Tina & Shelley,
That seems to cover the website for the coordinators, would that
also apply to the mailing list? To my knowledge, the mailing list
isn't actually part of Genweb even though each county has a mailing
list. I have had several people use the mailing list in the past for
offering look-ups back when Rootsweb was still self owned. I was told
that the mailing list was separate from the USGenweb and that I
couldn't stop the advertising to do look-ups for a fee.
The thing that would concern me the most is the people who think
that because it is allowed on the mailing list, that I was referring
the person. When the lady got ripped off, she paid and got nothing in
return, she let me have it because I allowed it on my mailing list.
Alot of people don't understand that us coordinators don't control this.
Shelley, you may want to let you subscribers know that you don't
have any knowledge about this person or the work that they do and if
they have any questions they should e-mail the person directly. You
could also tell them to check your look-up page for help with research.
Just my 2 cents worth,
