3-As for a majority, per cent or quorum for voting. I have mixed
feelings on
this matter. Many people (not only in this type of election) choose not to
vote or state their own opionion, yet those you have voted make the rules,
quidelines, etc. We held a vote within the Wisconsin GenWeb Project a couple
of years ago- I do not remember what it was for-perhaps Tina or Nancy
Sampson will remember. Nancy and I volunteered to count ballots etc. and
this was not an open forum. It was set up where the county coordinators
voted by emailing their vote to either Nancy or myself and then Nancy and I
would double check votes, count, etc. This was all done through private
emails. The election information was posted on this maillist-but all voting
etc. was done through private emailing and kept confidential. Tina didn't
even how they were voting etc. until the polls had closed. If I remember
quite a few cc's voted. Would this be possible to do again if there were a
need for an eletion or vote of any kind? I don't mean Nancy and I would have
to do it, but any volunteers. Or the idea MAK states about a poll etc.
set-up some place would work also.
Nancy, can you add anything to this above.
Hi Paula,
I remember about the same thing you have written -- I think your mind is sharper
than mine is these days, so thanks for putting together your thoughts. I really
don't have anything to add to this, but I did want to comment on how smoothly
this procedure seemed to go for us. We didn't get a vote from every CC, but
with you sending out little reminders to everyone on the list, I think we came
close! Plus with the two of us comparing notes to ensure that we agreed on each
vote, made for no mistakes. But the rest of it is a blur to me. Might be worth
considering for the next time around (if there is one - I'd be happy to keep
Tina forever!!!).
I personally see no reason to set up an account outside of Rootsweb to
accomplish what we have been able to do through this list and our own personal
email addresses.
Only worth a ½ penny and somedays it's only a ¼ penny (could it be Mad Cow?),
