Robin - I just noticed that you became a CC around the time I did - as I was the first and
only CC for Wood Co, WI - trivia question - do you remember Tim (the college kid) who was
the first WI SC - he sorta just disappeared - any idea?
If you haven't guessed by now, I love historical mysteries - and really like to find
the pieces - so - here is some info for you - that you may or may not have - like you said
on your blog - I have too many hobbies, too little time.
It would appear that Margaret Schmidt Kasper got married prior to 1907 as she had a child
in IL in 1907 - do you know where she died? If so, you could order the death certificate
and see if it lists her parents. Or you could order a marriage certificate - check the
NARA Archives in Chicago IL - they have a wealth of info.
Gustave died prior to 1930 - according to the census - so that should narrow it down to
New Trier, Cook Co, IL as his death place. R/S MAK

Strange, I didn't get any of these messages until Linda's yesterday
and had to go to the archives to see what it was all about.
1) Give your name and county(s), and the year you joined USGenWeb
WIGenWeb
Robin Kaspar, first and only "owner" of Grant County, 1997
2) Tell one thing about yourself that the rest of us would probably
not know, not related to genealogy.
I work for the ad agency that brings you the GEICO gecko, UPS,
WalMart,
freecreditreport.com (you know you can't help but sing the
jingle) and our newest work is running now for American Cancer Society
"More Birthdays."
3) What is the newest thing you did for your county(s) - URL of new
page, URL of update page, query?
I have a subscription to the Cuba City paper and post the obits every
week. I will be adding the other county papers as I can afford it LOL
4) What states/counties are you doing your personal genealogy research
in?
Seems like all of them LOL
5) What is the name of your Ancestor who is the biggest brick wall;
keep in mind, we are all adept researchers, so the more details, the
more help you might get.
My husband's grandmother, Margaretha Schmidt Kaspar. Born in Galicia,
Austria (now Poland), came to US probably 1910-ish, married Gustav
Kaspar in Chicago (also from Galicia in a nearby town, have to wonder
if they may have known each other in the old country. There was only
one Lutheran church in the area, serving all these little tiny
villages). Would love to find her parents/siblings.
