Robin - and all - if you need a quick lookup in Ancestory - World - let me know - it
isn't all that yet - kinda like Ancestory was 10 years ago for the USA. Althhough -
some areas are well documented - but, in foriegn languages (grin)
Yes, I am only an hour (without traffic) from the LDS Library in Santa Monica - I found
TONS there - but, I actually found a little one in Orange that isn't as crowded but
has OHIO and midwest stuff - which is helpful for some of Stan's stuff.

Oh yes, I've been renting LDS films for decades it seems. But my local
FHC is small, cramped, it takes weeks for the films to arrive. When I
lived in L.A. the Santa Monica/West L.A. FHC was wonderful. I was able
to do a lot of my early family research there without having to rent
much of anything.
I have ancestry, although not the World version.

Robin - did you know you can "rent" files from Salt Lake - they will
send them to your nearest LDS Family History Center - I have them
all over the place - you can also check it out on their website.
Also, some of us have ancestory - World - so it can also be checked
there.
Also - check the search engine here

Hi MAK, yes I remember Tim but I have no idea where he went.
I have Margaret's parents' names and birthplace in Galicia (then
Austria, now Poland) from her SS5 form, but records from the old
country are hard to access from where I live. The Galizien German
Descendants group has helped me a lot and a trip to Salt Lake would be
a godsend but so far my family hasn't mentioned wanting to gift me
with such a trip LOL.
