The year 2001 marks the 150th anniversary of Oconto County, Wisconsin;
formed in 1851. Both the County and the WIGenWeb project site have many
special things planned to celebrate this Sesquicentennial event
(spelled that one right all by myself!). You may want to set aside some
time to visit both in the coming year. The site already has many maps
(old and new), specific addresses, place names and locations to help you
discover the richness of your heritage. We have several wonderful,
dedicated volunteers to help with your researching; offering
information, suggestions and good resources. And the site is one place
you will ALWAYS get more than your money's worth on every visit (because
it's free). Open new doors this coming year and step into another time.
Share some of what your ancestors experienced. This looks to be a great
year to come. Enjoy our best to you, now, and in the months ahead. Happy
New Year to each of you! Rita - Oconto County WIGenWeb Project
Co-ordinator (and really proud of it).
