Tracy,
Very nice addition to the site!!! 30,000+ burials! I'll keep checking back
for the elusive ones I haven't located yet...

Hi everybody,
Here is something that I just added to fond du lac county -
Rienzi cemetery is the largest cemetery in the county, with over 30,000
burials. The original cemetery was established in 1844, and consisted of
only 8 acres of land. I have found that the original records of the
cemetery still exist, and included in the original book is a phamplet,
published in 1865 listing all of the lot owners up to that year.
I have scanned that phamplet and placed it on my county website.
Two sections of the original cemetery were set aside for single graves, and
most of those were unmarked. (It was not easy to copy down grave after
grave of unnamed infants, with only the father's name listed.)
So my list of all the single graves in the original Old Grounds, is also
included on the webpage.
It can be found at
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~wifonddu/resources/cemeteries/rienzi/ri...
oldgrounds.html
stay tuned......I am still working on these cemetery records!
happy hunting
