Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
MAK,
Should we forward this information to our county mailing lists as well?
Thanks,
Anne

OK - I just heard the skinny - the USGenWeb server was hacked into - we
are all advised to AVOID FTP into the sites - and to not visit the sites -
as they are working on them as fast as possible -
I know this is a pain - but - better to be SAFE than sorry - thanks.
Either Tina or I will send an all clear - thanks for your patience.

Thanks, MAK -- I was wondering about it as I have heard it from various
other state sites as well...

Subject: [WIGEN] Tina! ..Mak! help please, google has a warning tag on my
county sites
Tina and/or Mak
When pages from my counties come up on a google search there is a warning
"This site may harm your computer";
I did click on the warning to try to understand the problem, there is alot
of information there, too much for me to understand.
Please advice if there is something I am suppose to do or if this is
something you need to fix.
