Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

How do I get her on the Lincoln County mailing list and me off it?
This is what the 'New' administrator needs to do:
If you want to permanently transfer your list to another administrator,
follow these steps:
1. Go to the "Change List Admin Address or Password" section of the List
Tools.
2. Fill in the new administrator's e-mail address.
3. Check "yes" when asked if the change is permanent.
4. The new administrator will receive a confirmation letter advising him
or her of the change.
5. The new administrator should then change the password using the
"Change List Admin Address or Password" section of the List Tools.

I just got an e-mail from a person who offered to do research in Marathon
County for a fee. She did not clear it with me - is this against rootsweb
rules?

Hello...I am not new to genealogy or computers or the Internet, but I am new
to this position, so I may be asking for a lot of help in the beginning. :)
I am married to a wonderful man and have been for 35 years. We have a very
sweet little Beagle, Maggie who is almost 15 years old...she is the joy of my
life!
I am an RN and work full-time between my 3 jobs! I work 1 day a week at our
local hospital as a CPR Instructor and liaison for Organ and Tissue
Donation, I do insurance assessments for Life Plans and I just started a new position
in Wausau at the Marshfield Clinic in the Walk-In department 3 days a week.
So between my love for family history and my job, I am very busy. I am also
the President of our local genealogy group, North Pines Genealogy Group and
am the co-founder of this wonderful group of dedicated members.
I hope I can dedicate my spare [?] time to maintaining this site.
Shelly told me it really does not come with instructions, that you learn as
you go along...so don't be surprised if you hear from me from time to time!!!
Good to meet all of you!
Sharon
Please join me in welcoming Sharon Karow as the new County
Coordinator for Lincoln County. She has been an avid and
active genealogist of the Lincoln County area for many
years! I am very pleased she has joined our group!
Shelley is remaining with Marathon County, so no good-bye's
needed ... I hate goodbye's <g>.
Shelley, thank you for your care and dedication to Lincoln
County researchers and visitors over the years.
Lincoln County pages remain at

Sharon, please take a moment to introduce yourself to the
group!

I am giving one of my counties to someone who lives in it. (Lincoln)
I have changed all the pages to reflect her name - and showed her how to
change them herself and upload.
I know some of you have picked up or gotten rid of some counties. What do I
do next? How do I get her on the County lists?
Shelley

Hi All,
I was asked this year to judge the books for the WHS Book of the year... 17
books. All were great and it has been fun. There is one book I want to
point folks to. I don't know which book is the winner, as there are 6 separate
areas of evaluation for each book and 3 of us doing this.
However there is a book that I found just fascinating

It is 'First Person History' with a stunning level of documentation to go
with it...
