Subject: Looking for township in Wisconsin
Hi Tina,
I have been trying to find a township named "Andrus" in Wisconsin.
Unfortunately, I don't know what county it's in. Have tried the town and
county search engine, but no luck there. Can you help?
Thank you,
Mic Andrus
Hi Tina-
The only Andrus I find in the "cow book" is located in Johnstown Township,
Polk County.

Lori that is terrific! Keep us posted if you should get proofs of book when
it comes out. It amazes me the interest in cemeteries and tombstone photos
that our researchers and visitors have. Also truly amazing the amount of
work you all do to further that venue. I echo Mak, excellent job!

Hi all,
I don't claim to know all the rights and wrongs, but I just used my instincts, and created a 'Cemetery Visit' webpage for my county. Since I really believe that pelon rubbings are the best route for me, and one that I use, I focused on that, and maybe I shouldn't have.
But, please visit and let me know if I missed anything, or if you know of something that I could add to enhance my viewers education. It got out of hand, and a bit lengthy, but I just felt I needed to encompass as much as possible, for diversity, while sticking with the topic of copying the tombstone data.
So come on......what did I miss. Probably something really obvious.
http://www.rootsweb.com/~wifonddu/resources/cemeteries/cemetery_rubbings....
thanks all
tracy reinhardt
At the last meeting of our genealogical society, one of the members mentioned that he had just gone out to one of the oldest Catholic cemeteries in the county, and discovered that someone has just gone through it........with a wire brush.
Now the oldest stones are no longer legible!!!!!!!!
I just hope that we take the time to educate new genealogists on the proper way to do rubbings, and to tell them to leave those wire brushes home.
Adds an incentive to those photographs!!!!
Also, guess I need to create a page on my site for the safe way to do rubbings, or find one to link to.
tracy reinhardt
Lori, that is terrific! Excellent job ... you will never guess what I got
and from who for Bayfield today .. you will have to give me tips <g>

I'm tickled pink about a contribution of plat maps to Ashland County WIGenWeb by Kim Potaracke. I have posted the maps for 1898 and 1905 already and there are more years in my inbox. It just takes awhile to download all these! I have all listed at http://www.rootsweb.com/~wiashla3/maps.html but I will probably end up with links to the years and individual index pages for each year so the page isn't so long before the project is over!

Oops! I forgot about that one. But, no, I was actually asking about the
one at http://www.rootsweb.com/~wibiog/ . My old address is listed in quite
a few places on that site and I still am getting requests for transcripts,
so I don't dare give up on the address...even though I really want to.
Is there a way to get the info changed like you did on the Wisconsin pages?
Can I be of help in doing it, since I'm the one causing the problem?
