Tina,
I need to ask that some corrections be made to some of the tombstone links
for Fond du Lac county, please.
I want to be sure that people find them in the correct locations.
1. For some reason, the Bonesteel cemetery of Green Lake County is listed
in Fond du Lac county.
(I wondered what happened to that link, now you all know your SC is a space
cadet <VBG>! A... B... C... lol

Please feel free to share the following information with your genealogy
organizations, web sites, mail lists, etc. Thanks, Linda
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Attention Norwegian-Americans: The combined Norwegian-American
organizations of Gudbrandsdalslag, Nord Hedmark og Hedemarken and
Trønderlag will hold their annual "Tre Lag Stevne" in Fargo, North Dakota
this year from August 3-6 at the Ramada Plaza Suites and Conference Center.
The stevne (gathering) will include genealogy labs and research assistance
with all the resources of the bygdelags (organizations): books, films,
maps, family histories. There will be multiple seminars on genealogical,
cultural and historical Norwegian-American topics. The program includes a
tour to settlement areas of Norwegian emigrants in Richland County, North
Dakota, a visit to the Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead, Norwegian food and
music. There will also be a "pitchfork fondue", Norwegian craft
demonstrations and vendors. Those visiting Norway in the future might want
to take advantage of the opportunity to learn a little of the Norwegian
language in a Saturday seminar. And, of course, there will be the
opportunity to visit with others who share an interest in Norwegian heritage.
The stevne is open to the public although advance registration is
requested. Tours and meals must be reserved in advance. Additional
information, including a program schedule and registration forms are found
on the Trønderlag web
site:
Can someone tell me where the "instructions" are for the Tombstone photo
project? Is this something only CC's can do? Or can others participate?
I found the page where the photos are linked but no explanation.

Tina,
I need to ask that some corrections be made to some of the tombstone links for Fond du Lac county, please.
I want to be sure that people find them in the correct locations.
1. For some reason, the Bonesteel cemetery of Green Lake County is listed in Fond du Lac county.
2. The Scott Union Cemetery in St., Cloud, is in Sheboygan county, township of Scott, not Fond du Lac
3. The Rock River cemetery near Waupun, is not a name I recognize for Fond du Lac county, and probably it belongs in Dodge County, However, I can't find a cemetery list for Dodge county to confirm this.
also, it appears that some cemeteries are listed by township, and others by village, and not sure what is the case, or if there is a system to the list. For the sake of clarity, (and in one case, to add to the confusion, can you add the following notes to these pages:
- The Sacred Heart cemetery in Dundee, is in the township of Osceola
- Rosendale Cemetery, is actually in the township of Springvale
- Wedges Prairie Cemetery needs an 's' on the end of the name Wedge, and also, it is not in Springvale township but rather in Waupun township.
I am sorry to be a pest about this, but I just added links to these photos to my website, and discovered these errors. I applaud the time spent on these photos, especially by you to create these pages, but hope that a little clarification now will help researchers in the future.
thanks

This cemetery is both wonderful (that we have the photos)
and sad, in that it is in the condition it is in. Thank you
Larry and Linda for your continued good work preserving
these stones for future generations and for sharing your
work with the WIGenWeb Project and our many visitors.

You know, I have been watching and watching and patiently waiting and I
haven't seen the Sherwood Cemetery in Clark County come up yet. All those
Sparks in there be my kin.
Any chance you have that one?
BTW - I have been working very hard in MI linking up those tombstone photos.
3,157 linked in the two weeks I've been back from vacation, so while I'm
working here, I just hope some one is doing mine there. <g>

Please all join me in wishing Lorraine Newsome well.
She has resigned as Clark County Coordinator and the
county is available for adoption.
Thank you Sunny for your work with Clark County.
Sunny, you have all my best wishes.

The genealogy class at WCGS has planned a trip to the WI Historical Society on 22 June. If you live close enough and would like to attend, we would be happy to have you join us. Please email me for details so that I know how many to plan for on the tour. We will leave by bus inJanesville and go directly to the HS. Donna
From Pam Anderson <panderso(a)charter.net+++>
The 1905 Wild Rose Robbery Reenactment will take place
at 10:30 AM at the Jim & Mary Erdman property at the
end of River Street in Wild Rose.
The land is the last place on the left side of the
street and almost across the street from Oakhill
Cemetery. There will be signs up the day of the
event. Highway 22 is Main Street in Wild Rose.
If you are coming in from the South, River Street is a
left turn and if you are coming from the North it is a
right turn. River Street is all west of Main Street.
The land has a rustic appearance and the area where
the reenactment will occur is a field so you might not
to wear sandals or open toed shoes. You may want to
bring a folding chair or lawn chair.
Refreshments will be available for sale with the
proceeds going to the Wild Rose Library/Community
Fund. One of the robbers who is killed in the capture
is buried outside of Oakhill Cemetery and there will
be balloons showing the way to his grave.
The date has not changed from July 16th. The time is
10:30 AM and the place is the Erdman land on River St.
There will be parking on one of their acres.

The following web address will take you to a site
containing a death index for Wisconsin from 1959
- 1979. The system can be confusing so below is
info on how to use it.
Here is the web address:
http://www.vitalsearch-ca.com/gen/wi/_vitals/wide59_b.htm
Note that there are two underscores "_" in the
address.
1. After arriving at the site you will notice
that it is a simple two line page. Enter the
surname that you want to find in the box next to
"Begin Search".
2. You will then get another simple web page of a
few lines that will give you the Fiche number and
a link to "Go To Fiche". Click on the "Go To
Fiche".
3. You will then get a box with numbers and
letters at the top and left side. Note that "idx"
is located at the upper left and lower right.
Click on either "idx" to get to an index.
4. You will get a screen with last name and first
name followed by a letter and a number. The name
shown will be the first name on the Fiche for
that letter number set. For example if you were
looking for Heck, Walter J. you would find him on
Fiche C-01 since the first name on C-01 is Heck,
Oliver D. and the next Fiche starts with Hecker,
Joseph A.
5. Go back to the Fiche by clicking your back
key.
6. Locate the letter "C" and the number "01".
Where the two intersect click on the small "x".
That will take you to the actual record index.
You will see a certificate number, Last name,
First name, Middle Initial, Date of Death,
County, City, Age, Sex, and Reel Number.
