Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Welcome to Kathy and all the new CCs.

Congrats to Oconto County! great work!
I am going on vacation for two weeks, just in case someone asks where the CC
for Lincoln and Marathon County is!
Shelley
With permission, it is my pleasure to share this with
all of you! As SC of the WIGenWeb Project, I get
bragging rights, but it is truly the hard work of Oconto
County WIGenWeb Site County Coordinator Rita and her
terrific Oconto County WIGen Project contributors that
make the work of WIGenWeb Project and the USGenWeb
Project shine!
I couldn't be prouder of their work and their
contribution to the goals and mission of the USGenWeb
Project! Congratulations!!
The program airs --
Thursday, Sept. 23rd at 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. EST.
I couldn't be prouder of their work and their
contribution to the goals and mission of the USGenWeb
Project! Congratulations!!

Don't know about PBS. Will ask when I write back to him. Sure, send it on to
wherever you like. I am still surprised, since they were the ones to contact
me after having seen our sites on the internet.

Oh happy day!
So excited about this and want to share it with the rest of you. Early
in the year I was originally contacted by the Cat Mc McGrath Atlas Media
Corp about helping them with a special project for the History Channel
on early mill saws. The Oconto County WIGenWeb Site has a considerable
amount of logging and milling photos and information posted:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~wioconto/Loggingmain.htm
They were hoping for specific information and especially old photographs
on certain early types of millsaws, both portable and permanent. I sent
them as much as I could possibly find from our OC site.
There are preciously few inside views of sawmills. With copious amounts
of dry sawdust constantly floating around very dark, windowless
sawmills, and flashpowder (gunpowder) used to illuminate photographs,
there were very few photos taken, as you can imagine the risks. The
Oconto County Site has a large amount of sawmill information and really
nice collection of contributed old photographs and we were able to offer
some good ones, along with extensive information about early saws and
mills. This was absolutely a group effort with many thanks to Oconto
County WIGenSite contributors who share in this thank you from the
History Channel. They have been specifically asked to credit only the
Oconto County WIGenWeb Site for the contributions to these show(s).
Please contact them if you have old circular saw photos you would like
to contribute to their efforts!
We did good!

Hi Rita-
My name is James Mullen, and way back in April, Cat McGrath and I had
spoken to you about using the below listed pictures in our series
ToolBox on The History
Channel. The pictures were quite wonderful- I believe we used two to
three of them.
We are now doing a show on the Circular saw, and since this tools had
it's beginnings in the lumber mills, I thought we should re-contact you
to see if you had any
other archival photos or information that we might be able to use.
Finally, If you want to see the handsaw program, it is airing on
Thursday, Sept. 23rd at 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. EST. Thanks again for all of
your help, and I am looking
forward to hearing from you.
