Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
The complete transcription, just finished by Bill Fonferek, of Pine
Hill Cemetery of town of Spruce/Spruce, in Oconto County, has been
posted. Let's hear it for Bill!!!
http://www.rootsweb.com/~wioconto/PineHill.htm
Other new postings for October are at:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~wioconto/newest.htm
Now being formatted for posting soon, is the Morgan Cemetery in town of
Morgan, Oconto County, WI. More exciting completed volunteer projects
are on the way this Fall. So as the leaves fall along with the
temperatures, fix yourself a nice warm mug and come back from time to
time to see what is new. You are always welcome.

Reporting in for Barron, Burnett, Eau Claire, Sawyer, Trempealeau and
Washburn counties. All are a-okay! I also checked the Archives pages
that I maintain, and they are free and clear too.
Whew! Didn't want to spend the day on that kind of project! There are
alot more constructive things to do. :-)
Thanks for the heads-up, Tina,

I just checked the Douglas County pages and don't use the eagle logo... I
have been using one of the existing 'recognized' logo's.

An abandoned cemetery or some discarded tombstones?
This summer a couple who while hiking came upon a group of gravestones that
looked as if they had been unattended for years. There were nine, maybe 10,
gravestones just back from the banks of Squaw Lake in the Minocqua township.
It is not known if there was a small community or church at that location
at one time. The stones are close together causing some concern that they
may have been moved from another location. The Minocqua Museum is
determined to solve the mystery of the cemetery. Do you know anything about
this cemetery? An article, "The 'mystery of the graves' - Minocqua Museum
ladies begin search'. " appears in the second section of the Lakeland Times
newspaper, page 6, October 1, 2004. A list of the names & dates on the
tombstones can be seen at Oneida County WIGenWeb
http://www.rootsweb.com/~wioneida/
