Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I had a request tonight about old occupations and cannot find an answer
anywhere, not even on Cyndi's list (so far, anyway). What was a Bloomer?
The occupation was listed on a Jefferson Co NY census form, year unknown.

Is anyone interested in doing Wisconsin? Sounds like a terrific project.

Entry in Guinness World Records - 2002 Pg. 27
Adrian TARGETT of UK, the living link to the oldest known family tree in
the world, can trace his family back further than any other person. He
has been shown to be a direct descendant on his mother's side, of
'Chedder Man', a nine thousand year old skeleton found in a cave in
'Chedder Gorge', Somerset, UK. Scientists took a DNA sample from a molar
from 'Cheddar Man' and found a near perfect match in Adrian Targett, who
lives less than half a mile away.

How about advertising on the Regional CC list? I'm not sure what it's
called though.
Tim
Thanks for the "moo"-velous welcome! I'll be gathering some new
stuff so I can get up a "What's New" page so that we can give Tina
some more work to do (in linking it). LOL

Thanks Debie, I will look forward to hearing from him.
It occurs to me, that for those of you that are list-admins for the various county lists, if you would like to share the What's New page, it may spread the word that the counties are available for adoption.
Do any of you have any other ideas for soliciting volunteers?

Hi Tina,
I may have a CC for Washington County for you. This person had asked me
about it when Linda took it over and instead of being a Co-CC, he just let
it be. I will have him contact you if he is still interested.

Waushara County has a What's New page at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~wiwausha/whatsnew.html
I'll have to admit that I forget to update it half the time, but, its there.
Bayfield County also has a What's New Section on the Main page:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~wibayfie/contents.html
This one is bit out of date, since December 7th, but do have new photos, and
lots of new info that will probably be coming online this week.

Hi Tina-
I like the new page- but there is an error. You have Waupaca County What's
New Page lactually linked to the Waushara County page. The proper link for
Waupaca County is http://www.rootsweb.com/~wiwaupac/waupnew.htm
I know those W's get you every time.
Thanks

Shelly,
If you choose to add one to your counties, just let me know, and I will add the links. I think they are a wonderful way to let our visitors know what is new in the WIGenWeb Project. I admit though <ducking>, I have yet to add one to my county page.

I like this - and I am ashamed to say that I didn't know we should have pages
like this on our county pages. Maybe if I ever get enough time, I'll start
one too.
