I don't know if I have any answers- but on the 1895 map of Clark/Chippewa
http://www.livgenmi.com/wicounty and Clark/Chippewa 1901 map
http://www.kinquest.com/genealogy/resources/1901atlas.html all show Stanley
in Chippewa. On the 1901 the word Stanley goes into Clark County but the dot
of Stanley is just over the country line in Chippewa.

The 1895 Waupaca County State Soldiers and Sailors of the Late War census is
now complete and on-line! Continued thanks to Darleen and John Chipman.
http://www.rootsweb.com/~wiwaupac/Census/CenIndex.htm
This census can be helpful in that the 1890 census is not available - so
this census can help during the time lapse of the federal census from 1880
to 1900.

Hi all,
Due to extenuating circumstances, Peggy Perry has found the need to
place Dane and Iowa Counties Up for Adoption at this time.
I have assured Peggy that she always has a "home" with WIGenWeb
Project, and with regret have accepted her resignation.
Please all join me in thanking Peggy for her extraordinary dedication
and great work with both Dane and Iowa Counties, and the WIGenWeb
Project.
Peggy, you will be missed!
Most sincerely,
Tina
Peggy,
To see this letter from Tina saddens me. To see that you are
stepping down from Dane & Iowa counties, it had to be a hard decision for
you to make. Please know, you have made a difference in my own personal
genealogical research with Dane county.
You will be missed by many,

Lynda,
I did a search on the Rock County GenWeb site and found this ....
WIRock--1873 Atlas--History
Evert's 1873 Atlas History of Rock County Clinton Junction [Clinton
Junction,] located at the crossing of the Chicago and Northwestern and
Western Union Railroads, is one of the
That is Clintonville in Waupaca County and it was called Clinton at one
time.
I don't find a Clinton Juntion but find the following:
Clinton Townhip in Barron County.
Rockdale in Dane County was Clinton at one time.
Clinton Township and Clinton in Rock County.
There was a Bamberg at one time in Sheboygan County that was called Clinton.
Clinton Township in Vernon County.
The nearest I come to Clinton Junction is Clyman Juntion.

Hi all,
I've updated a few of the pages on the Outagamie County WIGenWeb pages.
The cemeteries page had been updated (finally!) and I think I've finally got a fairly comprehensive list of all of the cemeteries in the county. If you get a chance please take a look. I welcome any corrections, additions, updates or suggestions.
http://www.rootsweb.com/~wioutaga/outcem.htm.
Part of the cemetery update I did was to add photos of gravestones. If you have a picture of the gravestone of someone buried in Outagamie, feel free to send it my way and I'll add it to the site. Currently there are photos for
St. Mary's in Kaukauna - http://www.rootsweb.com/~wioutaga/photos/cemeteries/stmary.htm, and
Seymour City Cemetery just outside of Seymour - http://www.rootsweb.com/~wioutaga/photos/cemeteries/seymour.htm.
I've also updated the photos page. I've separated people pictures from place pictures. If you have an Outagamie photo that you're willing to share, please let me know and I'd be happy to add it.
http://www.rootsweb.com/~wioutaga/photos/photos.htm
Take care,
Jenny

I want to relate to you something that happened along our travels during
the Christmas holiday season for I've thought of it often in the days since.
When one travels by public transportation such as by air, one never knows
who their seatmates will be or what story they have to tell. I suppose
what's neat about it is that, if it is a matter of chance or fate whom one
sits in close proximity to, it is always different and therefore it is an
adventure.
This short story happened on our flight between Memphis and the Twin
Cities. When we arrived at the gate in Memphis to depart, the agents told
us the flight was overbooked and that folks need to get right on. One
often notices members of the Armed Forces of the various branches in full
uniform on most flights and thinks not too much of it.
As the plane continued to load, a young man in civilian clothes sat down
beside us, which of course we thought no more of than any other passenger.
Some time into the flight as the pilot told of conditions in the Cities,
with snow coming down there, the young man mentioned wondered how his wife
was doing as she had said she was snowed in - in Minot, ND. We stated we
were going to Fargo and somewhere in the conversation he said he was with
the Air Force having transfered from Washington State just a few months
before to the cold and windy plains of Minot.
He was returning from Montgomery from a training exercise of some sort. He
told us that he was a missleer (sp?). His job was to sit underground in
one of the silos around Minot as part of our defense on our northern
perimeter. Here was a young man, just out of college, offering to serve
his country. At some point as the conversation began to wane, I expressed
to him my thankfulness to him for the job he was doing not only for his
country but also for myself and my family.
As I was working on queries this evening, I ran across a military address
and I've thanked them as well. It gave me cause to remember, the meeting
in December, just a few weeks past Thanksgiving and just prior to Christmas
and to recall with fondness how much it meant to me and to him for that
simple expression passed between us.
In this season, perhaps on the verge of war, I heartily recommend thanking
those you may meet, serving in our Armed Forces.
Tim
