Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Hi, Paula,
I don't know that it actually got to your list. In my case, Washington Co.,
the Kojo messages were treated as 2 bad subscriptions requests and came to
WIWASHIN-Request-L and Request-D, and from there bounced to me as
administrator. Neither message made it to the list members.
I hope that's true for yours also,

Dear Sir,
With due respect and humility I write you this letter which I believe you
would be of great assistance to my children and I.
I got your contact through my husband commercial address book and believed
that you must be a trust worthy and reliable
person that will not like to intimidate me or betray my trust after
hearing this news. I am a native of KONOBO in the
KEREMA local district of SIERRA LEONE in West Africa and the wife of Late
DR. MUNDI A. KOJO who was assassinated
by the rebel forced loyal to Major John Paul Koromah because he was the
Director General National Gold and Diamond
Mining Corporation of Sierra Leone. Few days before my husband was
assassinated, he instructed me and my children
(Ibrahim and Amina) to move out of Sierra Leone immediately, before the
powerful Economic community of West African
States (ECOMOG) forces intervened, which eventually resulted into a brutal
civil war. My children and I managed to
escape to Cotonou Republic of Benin through the help of my husbands
friend. We came into (Cotonou) Republic of Benin
with some valuables including a cash sum of $25MILLION(TWENTY FIVE MILLION
UNITED STATES DOLLARS ONLY)
in two trunks boxes which I have deposited with a Trust Company here in
Cotonou and special arrangement has been
made with the currier company who will freight the money out of this
country.
Meanwhile, I want to leave Cotonou entirely with this money for investment
in your country because of a stable political
situation there and mostly for the future of my children. I want you to
please assist us to claim this fund from the Trust
Company in any of their branches, after which the fund will be deposited
into your account for investment in your country.
You should also help us to source for good investment opportunity so that
we can invest wisely in your country when the
fund is finally confirmed in your account.
We have it in mind to reward you handsomely for your assistance as we have
resolved to give you 20% of the total sum for
your help. But due to how I am being monitored by the Sierra Leonean
Government Secret Agents, I will advice you to
have the
deal concluded with my son (IBRAHIM KOJO). Please contact my son on this
email: ibrahimkojo(a)caramail.com ,
immediately you receive this letter to enable us proceed in earnest
towards retrieving the consignments and transferring
same into your account.
Your private Fax and Phone is needed in this transaction for private
discussions.
Note: There is no risk involved in this business.
Remain Blessed,
MRS. ANNE KOJO

Actually, no - I'm having 8 ladies transcribe the book for me. I just scan
the pages and send them to them. My transcribers are from coast to coast.
I don't believe any of them save perhaps one is even in Wisconsin.
>Are y'all taking typing classes and typing 100 words per minute to my 20?
Now the 1884 History of Crawford is another matter. If I'm lucky I get one
page done a day, for I have to go to another room as I transcribe it while
watching TV. Only 195 more pages and I'll be done with that book.

PS - I'm about to take the first week of my summer vacation - delayed until
now. I'll be leaving 10/31 and returning late on 11/8.
Today the doctor informed me that I was in good enough condition,
recovering nicely from my bout with microplasma, to fly - even though my
ear drum ruptured about 10 days ago. I'm now on a penicillin plus drug for
the next 10 days and then off to a specialist to see how I progress.
Hopefully this get-a-way will do me good.
Nice job Tim! - you are totally rock steady plugging along chapter by
chapter to get that done.
Are y'all taking typing classes and typing 100 words per minute to my 20?
Guess I best get busy! <grin>

At long last another chapter on line this evening - for the 1884 History of
Crawford County:
Chapter 33 - Prairie du Chien - Town and City.
http://www.rootsweb.com/~wicrawfo/chap33.htm
The longest chapter for the Crawford County history but extremely interesting.
There are a couple of items there that 'they said it couldn't be done' but
the inventors proved the nay-sayers wrong. A goodly number of bios as well
and a good bird's eye view of what life was like in Prairie du Chien in 1884.

My oversite of not including the URL for the FHC site.
The URL is http://www.familysearch.org/
Once there click on the search tab at the top of the page.
One this next page you will see a menu on the left side of the page - click

Hi List!
Shari and I and our list of 14 volunteers have been very busy transcribing
and adding online:
History of the Great Lakes, Vol. 2 by J.B. Mansfield
Published Chicago: J.H. Beers & Co. 1899
Currently we have 469 bios online.
We have also cross referenced the wife by her maiden name when known and the
mother by maiden name when known which makes our list of over 1100 people
online.
Check it out!

I also just noticed the Family Search (FHC) also has the vital records index
of Mexico and Scandinavia on-line. http://www.familysearch.org/
I know a large number of people in the Waupaca County have Scandinavian
families in their family tree and may not have seen this also.
For anyone new to this site - go to the address given, click on the Search
tab at the top and the next page to the left, you will find of searchable
databases available.

Passing this along, just incase many of you did not have this information.
The FHC Family Search site now has the 1880 United States, 1881 Canadian and
the 1881 British Census on-line and it's all FREE!
Isn't this great!

Dear mrs Reinhardt,
I wonder, can you help me. Lately I came across an appeal of mr Harris Loomans from Alto - Waupun Wisc.. He asked for information on the Dutch Loomans and Landaal families.
I am a dutchman and currently working on a book on alternative medical science in the 19th century. I discovered a two members of the Landaal family that are not known to the genealogists because they were the unknown children of a couple that died young. The daughter Louise Landaal plays an important role in my research. I imagine that mr Loomans would be very interested in these completions to his family tree.
I send mr Loomans an e-mail but it was returned because the mailaddress is no longer valid. Since I read your name over and over again I gather that you are one of those pillars of research, a spider in the web on whom much of these internetpublications rely.
Therefore, do you happen to know mr Harris Loomans or his wife Barbara (Babs). I couldn't find them in the white pages but I only looked under Waupun.
If you know an e-mail, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Anthony Dekker
