Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Flats is an area of Westfield township in Marquette County. As a matter of

THANK YOU Adams Co Researchers and Wisconsin County Coordinators--yesterday
I asked where Russell Flats was located. It's in Marquette Co, SW of
Westfield WI.

----------------------------
Where is Russell Flats? Russell Flats, had a twp news column in the Adams
County newspaper mentioning places like Westfield and Lincoln (probably the
Adams Co twp)...is it in Marquette Co?
---------------------------------------------------
Russell Flats is in Marquette County SW of Westfield, Westfield Twp. Oak
Hill Cemetery is on County Highway A, South of Lawrence Lake, North of
Oxford...Russell Flats was named after the Russell Family.
---------------------------------------------------
Believe you are correct in the assumption that Russell Flats was
in Marquette County. We were looking for relatives buried in the
Russell Flats Cemetery and what we found out was that Russell
Flats Cemetery was actually the Oak Hill Cemetery in Marquette Co.
Does anyone know of a person who likes to make web pages and would be
interested in working with a woman on her gen. information for posting.
It is taking more time than I have right now and I would like to see her
complete this. I have the basic pages done but there is much more to
add. Or the helper can start from scratch and rebuild it; won't hurt my
feelings either way. Please (pleading on bended knee, whimpering in the
corner) contact me if you know someone who can help her out. Thank you,
Rita - Oconto County
Joan, I see a Russell Corners in Sauk, but no Russell Flats in the COW book...
Hmmm, there are a few just Russell listed:
Russell Township BayfieldCoWI, Russell Township LincolnCoWI, Russell Township
and Russell (location unknown) SheboyganCoWI, and a Russell Chimney Rock
Township in TrempealeauCoWI.
Hope this helps narrow the field (grin)... R/S MAK

Anne,
I am here, and at my regular.. no biggie.. gives me an opportunity to
answer two questions in one fell swoop :-) I like that. Due to a
waterpipe leak, the Archives Search Room will be closed at least
until May 15, 2001. Visit http://www.state.me.us/sos/arc/closing.htm
for details. If any of you have visitors or mailing list subscribers
that have research in Maine, you may want to pass along.
For Vital Records in Maine AFTER 1922 visit
http://www.state.me.us/sos/arc/archives/genealog/genie4.htm, and Anne,
I work very close, so if you would like me to stop by and get them for
you, I would be most happy to.

I'm trying to help an elderly gentleman do some Maine-New Brunswick
research...I think I located his grandparents death records from the index
online.....is there an easy way to see if these are indeed his? Do you know
anyone that works in the State Library?--rumor has it that it is flooded?
The two names are:
HENDERSON, Jennie d. February 28, 1972 in Houlton and her hubby John
HENDERSON d. March 6, 1966 in Eastport.....I'm pretty sure the Jennie is
ours, a little less sure on the John....
Thanks for any tidbits of help you can shed!

Hi Everyone: The Green Co Genealogy Group will hold its first meeting on
the 7th of April at the Monroe Public Library at 1pm. We realize that
this date will not be good for everyone as there is a state meeting also
on that date in Manitowoc. However, it was the date that worked for us.
On our agenda will be nominating for elections, selecting a by-law
committee, discussion on what the group wants to accomplish.
Eventually we would like to have a newsletter and do a lot of work on
updating the cemteries that were copied in the 1960's-70's.
All are invited to attend and refreshments will be served after the
meeting. Hope to see you there. If you are interested but can't make it
on that date, please email us with the day and whether day or evening
works best for you.
Thank you.
PS If you have questions or comments, feel free to email at this
address. We would appreciate knowing if you can come to the meeting.

I am not involved with them. They pick off addresses to spam people from
all Gen. sites and then bilk them out of the money people send in for
bogus "services" by jumping to another address without notifying
clients. I have received so many e-mails from troubled people asking
what to do so I spoke with my State Attorney General's office and they
set up a case to investigate this interstate criminal activity. I am
only asking that folks forward a copy of the spam so the office has
something to go on. Now I want to get back to real life. I have answered
over 150+ letters from all over the country, and some of them are mean
and insulting, because someone attached my e-mail address, and they keep
pouring in. I just wanted to set something good up so people could help
put a stop to this.
Here are the correct addresses. Please feel free to visit the website
before sending the infomation to the e-mail address provided. The
original message that the Attorney General's office sent had the letter
"u" missing from their e-mail address. The one below did not bounce. It
is embarrassing that the mistake happened but the site will give you all
necessary information. Thank you for writing -One Tired Rita
