Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

With the announcement of the USGenWeb Archives Pensions Project, the interest
and participation has grown tremendously! Please visit
http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/pensions/
The USGenWeb Archives Pensions Project is accepting transcriptions and
extracts of pension related material to be uploaded to the
state/county/military directories of the principal residence of the
pensioner. It is my hope that the State Coordinators, County Coordinators and
Town hosts will find this a valuable resource to link to.
Please join the USGenWeb Archives Pensions Project as they embark on this
project!
We look forward to working with you!

I'm confused as to the role/interface of:
WIGenWeb Archives Project
and
GenConnect Boards
Do(Can) we use GenConnect Boards on our County Pages?
If so, what is the purpose of the WIGenWeb Archives Project?
I am using the GenConnect Queries on my Buffalo Co. Page, because
someone set it up between my absence and return.
The WIGenWeb Archives Project - Buffalo County Page is asking for
Bible Records, Biographies, Deeds, Family Group Sheets, Obituaries,
Pension Records, and Wills, the GenConnect items, but is not using
GenConnect forms. Are these two different projects?
I have out-dated links to my name on the WIGenWeb Archives Project -
Buffalo County Page (Obituaries). I have been trying to get them
changed since June 3rd, but I cannot get an answer from Sue Baker.
Is she sick, away, etc. I see where they are stored, but when I try
to FTP a corrected version, I get "permission denied." The userid
and password has not changed on the Buffalo County Page since I left
and came back for the "normal" pages, how do I get into the archive
folders?
My wrists are killing me from this typing. Is anyone available to
talk by PHONE tonight after six o'clock about the above items? If
you'd send me a phone number, I'd like to find out tonight, what has
transpired in the WIGenWeb Project while I was gone. Thanks !!

State Coordinators: Please forward this to your state lists!
- ------------------------------
I have noticed that several states and counties have started pages that deal
with unidentified photos and with memorabilia that has been located and they
cannot find the rightful heirs.
I have started a page for links to such sites for all counties and states
that have these pages.
I would like for anyone that has a site for these things to please contact
me so that I may add a link to YOUR site, whether it be State or County
level!
If you do not have such a site, you might want to think about creating one.
I have already had many submissions to my own, and requests for additional
ones in other states, but as I am not part of the states in question, I
would not want to be the one to have such sites for those states.
For examples of the unidentified photo pages see:
http://www2.crosswinds.net/~sdcounk/mystery.htm
For the memorabilia see:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~cogenweb/goldmine/goldmin.htm
To see the links pages :
Mystery Gallery Project (unidentified photos)
http://www.rootsweb.com/~cogenweb/mystery/index.htm
The Gold Mine Project: (memorabilia)
http://www.rootsweb.com/~cogenweb/goldmine/index.htm
I would also appreciate a link to these two projects pages.
Thank you,
Lynn
