Ann,
I invite you and all others new to the list to visit WayNet - Richmond/Wayne
County's Community Internet Association - at
http://www.waynet.org.
WayNet offers information on lodging, restaurants, businesses,
organizations, and a community calendar. Of special interest to those on
the list is a Genealogy page with links to various resources within the
community. That is located at
http://www.waynet.org/people/genealogy.htm.
We also have a great deal of historical information for the area. Just
follow the "Did you know?" link.
If you still have specific questions after visiting the site, please email
me directly. I'll be happy to help in any way possible...or put you in
touch with someone who can help you!
Glad to hear you'll be visiting us soon. Welcome "home"!

Subject: Visiting Wayne County
Good Morning from California,
I'm a newbie and have been lurking for quite a while on this list. I'm
inexperienced in Genealogy and trying to get up to speed. I've cashed in my
frequent flier miles for two tickets to Indiana the first week in April.
I'll
be staying in Richmond.
If anyone could email me hints on places of interest, bookstores,
libraries to visit, etc; I'd appreciate it. Also, where are Elkhorn and
Locust Grove Cemeteries located?
And . . . I am specifically looking for information on:
Anderson DYE b. 1829 d. 18 November 1882 married Elizabeth MANNING b. 1823
d.
22 November 1913. Their daughter Carrie M. DYE was my grandmother.
I am also looking for information on Rebecca F. BENNETT, daughter of Robert
BENNETT and ???. She was married to Thomas Jefferson COLVIN, my
gg-grandfather.
Thank you,
Ann Colvin Hart
