Hi Mike
This is a long shot but I guess a lot of gene results start that way. Here's
my problem:
Can't find the name of parents of my GG G/D Asa Davis. I've been unsuccessful
in finding these names thru use of normal channels eg FHC, county histories
and records, census etc so thought I'd try an approach that worked on an
ancestor in another line. That is looking for the father's surname ( Davis)
in the county where the son may have met his wife to be.
In this case, the future wife was Mary Jane Branson who I believe was living
in Wayne co and perhaps Green T/S between 1830 -1845. She and Asa Davis were
married in Dec 1846 in Delaware co which was the county where Mary's uncles
lived ( her father had died in 1829 - Nathan Branson). Mary's mother was Ruth
(Frazier) Davis.
So would appreciate it very much ifsomeone look up in the 1840 census to see
if there are Davis heads of house who have a son 20-30 yrs living in the
house.
Also have read there is a 1845 Indiana state census. How can I get one of
those or at least for Wayne, Delaware, Henry, and Randolph Co. And maybe a
Davis head of house with a son 20-30 would be in this census as well.
If you have any ideas on the above would appreciate them.
Thanks
Eldon Davis
