Subject: Wayne Co Info
I have ancestors,
the Parkers who moved to Wayne Co and settled in Perry Township
about 1831. The came from Laruel Co Kentucky.
And
the Hardens who moved to Wayne Co and settled in Green Township
about 1837.
They came from Guilford Co North Carolina.
I often wonder what brought them to Wayne Co. Both families farmed and
lived
in this area until about 1855 when they moved on to Iowa as it opened up.
Would anyone know of any brochures, newspapers ads, fliers, etc. that
exsisted telling the people about the "New Land in Wayne Co Indiana".
Somehow those pioneers had to know about it!!! Does anyone have any ideas or
thoughts???? My ggrandmothers wrote a poem from Iowa back to the relatives
in
Wayne Co, she wrote fondly of Wayne. I have always wondered why they both
chose Wayne Co.
