Morrisson-Reeves Library's excellent newspaper index is in the process of
being digitalized so it can be accessed via the Internet. The
articles/papers will NOT be available over the Internet. You'll still have
to come "home" and visit with us here in Richmond/Wayne County, but at least
you'll have a better idea of what will be available when you get here. I
haven't heard a "guesstimate" on the completion of this huge project, but I
will post to the list and let you know when it becomes available.

Suzanne is right...there are microfilms of all of the local papers over 150
years old at the Morrison Reeves Library and they contain lots of obits.,
vital records, etc. I found a great obituary on my 3rd great grandmother
who
died in 1872! In the obits you can usually find lots of genealogical info!
There are lots of genealogy books there, too, lots for the area of Wayne Co.
