The 1914 obituary of Allen Trimble Taylor in Jasper County, Iowa
has the following clues. He was born near Germantown, Pueblo Co.,
OH (translate this to be Preble Co. OH and possibly East
Germantown in Jackson Twp., Wayne Co., IN) on August 1, 1829. It
further states he removed from OH to IN when very young.
In 1854 he was united in marriage to Mary J. Morris of
Hagerstown, IN and the same year the couple left for Iowa.
I have found Allen Taylor in the 1850 census of Jefferson Twp,
Wayne Co on p. 62b.
TAYLOR, Stephen, 50/ m/ farmer / 1800 / MD
TAYLOR, Susan, 45 / f / VA
TAYLOR, Elizabeth Ann, 25 / f / OH

TAYLOR, James, 14 / m / IN
TAYLOR, Columbus, 10 / m / IN
TAYLOR, Jane, 8 / f / IN
TAYLOR, (Wianna?), 4 / f / IN
The Stephen Taylor family was also there in the 1840 census.
I have been unable to establish the family of Mary J. Morris.
This might have been a Quaker family but that is a guess.
If anyone knows anything about these people I would appreciate a
response.
Thank you.
