Subject: Gus & Cora (Conklin) Garrett of Fayette & Wayne Cos., Ind.
Hi,
I am new to these lists because I have just found a link to a long lost
family member, if I could only find an exact date of death for them. If I
could prove the link it would almost increase my family tree by fifty
percent in size (Not that I need any more research to do!).
I am looking for information about Gus/ Augustus Garrett, who died in 1948,
and for his wife, Cora (Conklin) Garrett, who died in 1935. I have tried
calling the health departments of Wayne & Fayette Cos. with one not able to
find a record and the other not having the time to look, and the only
genealogy of which they are a part has no more information to offer than the
years of death.
In 1880 Augustus Garrett was in Fayette Co., Ind. In 1930 Gus and wife,
Cora, were in Wayne Co., Ind. I know fore sure that the 1880 Augustus
Garrett is a member of my family tree. I would like to prove that the 1930
Gus Garrett in Wayne Co., Ind. is the same person as Augustus of 1880 (There
is a potential flaw in the 1930 census that leaves some doubt, and that is
info about the birthplace of the father of Gus).
Would anybody have any death indexes, burial indexes, or cemetery indexes
that could be checked that would tell me in which county Gus and Cora
Garrett died and were buried?
I would appreciate any hints, tips, or suggestions.
Thanks for reading this far!
