I sent a list of names and dates to a Catholic church (St. Andrew) in
Richmond and they looked everything up for me. I don't believe that there
was a fee so I made a donation to their cemetery fund.

Hi,
Yes I was successful. I called the Catholic Dioceses of Indianapolis. I
asked who would hold the archives for Abbington area (Time frame), and the
address and cost for a look up. Its been years so I no longer have that
info.. but if you do the same it should still work.
They told me... that the catholic church is not very large in Indiana, so
most records are held in one place... Just for your info the Catholic Church
is and always has been into keeping very good records. The only problem is
the head of the dieceses of that particular area. Some don't want to have
their staff bothered with genealogy requests. There are a couple in Ireland
that are that way.
Anyway good luck
Regards Nelda
