Good morning from still wet and windy Juneau. Spring, where forth are thou?
Lucy PAXTON was a HOGG before she married in 1836 in Amherst,
Virginia. Apparently she and William from the births of their
children arrived in Wayne county by about 1850. Her brother Samuel
was also in Wayne county. Samuel is my ancestor but no one in the
family had ever worked on his sister Lucy. Back to William and Lucy.
Their eldest son was James (1837-before 1930) who married Nancy S.
KITTERMAN in 1861. They had no children.
Next child was Jonas born 1838...He was on the 1850 census but I
couldn't locate him again.
Eliza was born 1841...There was an Eliza who married in Wayne county
but her census data didn't fit.(William J. GRIEF)
Harrietta or perhaps Henrietta born 1843...she is elusive
Mary born 1845...
William born 1847...In Civil War
Robert born 1848
Alpheus born 1850...I don't think he ever married as he was with one
of his married sisters
Martha "Jennie" born 1854
Alice born 1857 married Ellis J. BAIRD...no children here either
I am still working my way through the Wayne county marriage volumes
sorting out the HAGUE, HOGUE, HOGG, PAXTON, GOFF
and STEVENSON/STEPHENSON surnames.
I thank you all for your kind help.
