Thanks for the warning, Pat. We don't have it, but just in case I've been
trying to get the Microsoft link all day, but every time I begin to download
the update it disconnects me! ACK!!!!

Subject: kak worm virus
To all,
I have just discovered that I received an e-mail virus called kakworm
(and
various other names) probably from one of the many mail lists I am
on. It
comes embedded in an email and you do not have to open it (as with an
attachment) to become infected. I also don't believe that it is caught by
the mail list filters. I don't think it applies to you unless you use
Microsoft's Outlook mail program. If you do, there is a patch available
from Microsoft to prevent it. I use Norton's Antivirus and below is the
page that tells about it and how to clean your machine if you find it.

I would suggest everyone up grade their virus definitions and run a full
scan for viruses to see if you have it. I was unaware of when I got it
but
had to be since the 1st of the month as it is programmed to shut
your
computer down on the first of every month. This should give you plenty of
time to fix it.
I am truly sorry if I have passed this on to some of you inadvertently and
you are forgiven if you passed it on to me. I was able to remove the
virus
with the help of the Norton instructions.
With all that said, Happy Mother's Day!
Wormed out and tired, Pat
