Betsy, Ann et al,
The last address I have for David Youse is david.youse(a)verizon.net.
An easy way to get information from the Beverly Yount books is to e-mail the
Morrisson-Reeves library in Richmond. The Wayne County Genealogical Society
has a set also and you can e-mail one of their researchers. Both URLs can
be obtained from their web sites which can be easily accessed with Google.
Having walked most of the cemeteries in western Wayne County, I can recall
seeing the graves of many Hoovers. Ann also mentioned the Ellabarger and
Beeson families. All three were pioneers of Wayne County.
The second wife of the husband of my ancestor, Mary (Myers) Elliott was
Alice (Wise) Hoover. This was also a second marriage for Alice, her first
husband being Silas Hoover who died in 1883 at age 34. Exum Elliott
(1823-1904), the husband of these women was a prominent citizen of Wayne
County and donated heavily to Earlham College in Richmond.
These families all came to Wayne County early (most as early as the 1820s or
sooner). The county was very sparsely populated then and these people were
all closely acquainted with each other. The area around Cambridge City,
East Germantown, Dublin, Mount Auburn and Milton is rich with the heritage
of German-American families.
