Shirley,
Do you know his parents' names? That information might help both of us. If you
could check marriage applications, they give
more information than the marriage records do....like parents.

Hi,
Sorry to jump in on someone else's conversation. Maybe some of you could
help me also. I have a Harry Patterson married to Sarah Adamson . I know
that they were married in Randolph Co. In. (have the date but can't find it
right now) They were in the 1850 Grant Co. In Census. He is listed as being
33 and she was 25. I have an old letter to my Mother saying several of the
older Pattersons were born in Kentucky. Harry and Sarah moved on to Kansas
when a lot of Adamsons also moved.
I have nothing more on Harry any ideas?

uh......er......hmmmm.... I wish I knew. I'm assuming they were
Irish or
English but I can't get any further back until I find out
who gramps daddy was for sure. I'm still working on that part
with a
little help from his military records. Right now, I'm hoping
to find where they're buried so 1) I can look for more records
that might
lead to his parents or 2) go see his grave because NO ONE
in our family has ever known where he is. (Well, not in these last
few
generations anyway. *grin*
BTW, thanks to all those who did some checking for me. Many responded.
Next question: Are their cemetery records for Wayne County that I can
check on
line or does anyone have access to through another
source?
Shirl
