Hello Listers,
Arnold Dean's "Cemetery Directory of Wayne County Indiana", is a directory
of all local cemeteries in Wayne County, listing the location, contact
information, directions, etc.
Beverly Yount's "Tombstone Inscriptions in Wayne County, Indiana" is a 4
volume set with listings of actual tombstone inscriptions, along with some
genealogical and/or church records where appropriate. Ms. Yount's book is
currently out of print.
Mr. Dean's book is still in print and is available via the Wayne County
Genealogical Society. The cost is $20 - $16.00 for the book and $4.00 for
shipping and handling. Their address is
Wayne County Genealogical Society
P O Box 2599
Richmond IN 47375-2599
The Society is in the process of re-documenting Ms. Yount's work and filling
in the gaps. As you can imagine, this is a long and tedious process. In
the meantime, I invite you to visit WayNet's page on local cemeteries.
There are only two listings at this time, but we will hopefully have several
more online by the end of the summer. That address is

"Cemetery Directory of Wayne County Indiana" was compiled by Arnold Dean.
The copyright is 1992.
We've seen Beverly Yount's "Tombstone Inscriptions in Wayne County,
Indiana"
frequently mentioned as a reference, but her publication is dated 20+ years
earlier than Dean's.
The Morrisson-Reeves online catalog describes Dean's work with maps, abt.
256
pages. How does Dean's "Directory" differ from Yount's?
Could we have some discussion on the list about the two works?
