Hello Paula
I live near Pembroke and locally the abbreviation P Dock is used for
Pembroke Dock. It's a separate town to Pembroke separated by about a mile.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes

Subject: [WALES-GEN] What does "P Dock" stand for?
I just found my 2nd great grandmother in the 1881 UK census and her place of
birth was listed as "P DOCK" in Wales. I've found a Pembroke Dock in
Pembrokeshire, but I'm wondering if there is anyplace else in Wales that
would fit that abbreviation. I don't want to be searching records in the
wrong parish!
Many thanks,
Paula Morris
