Hello Muriel,
Starting from the start! it`s not too difficult to find a birth if the maiden name of the
mother is known and maybe the place of birth and any other relevant details you can glean
from his mother.
There are two spellings, Brian and Bryan so this is important too.
If the maiden name of the mother is not known then it becomes a bit of a lottery. If as
you say you are not sure whether he emigrated under his birth name then it becomes almost
impossible to trace him but first things first lets see if we can get hold of a birth date
and folio number in order that you may obtain a birth certificate.
Cheers, Keith Roberts.

subject: Re: [WALES-GEN] Help from South Australia
Hi there,
I have got one that you could really get your teeth into but fear it may be
an impossible task, My husband has a brother that was put up for adoption but
his mother insists that it never went through, however its said that even so
Brian Hawkins was taken to Australia by his prospective adoptive parents in
1965/66 and he was born possibly 1954/55. It is known from a letter that at the
age of 18 he was an artist?.
My husband would love to trace his long lost brother and know how he is but
it would seem an impossible task with the little information we have, its not
really known if he emigrated in the name of Brian Hawkins.
Any suggestions as to how we may pursue our search would be greatly
appreciated as both parents are unable to to help.
thanks for your time
Muriel Hawkins
