Hi Terry,
I feel that you have a very difficult task as Evans and Davis are very
common names in Wales. The first useful census available was in 1841 when
your Evan Evans would be 66 years old. Some Family History Societies have
transcribed the censuses for their areas but you need to narrow down your
search.
I see that you have sent a further e-mail with information about John Evans
and Sarah Davies. I think that baeconshire will be Breconshire or as it is
sometimes called Brecknockshire. I will send you direct the census index
for Breconshire for 1851 with the names of John Evans and also Sarah Evans
assuming that they were married by then. I haven't time to go through all
the names but you might be able to spot a John and Sarah with the same
reference number indicating that they are living at the same dwelling.
I would suggest that is you are sure of the Brconshire connection you should
subscibe to the Powys list and the Breconshire ones. Details can be
obtained from

I was wondering how you came by the information on John and Sarah as you
seem to know when they were born.
Good luck with your research.
Regards,
Margaret Harvey
