"Mrs. Mary M. Jones, widow of the late John M. Jones of Scranton, died on Sunday
evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas D. Thomas of Edwardsville, after a few
days' illness. She came to this country from Cwmbach, South Wales, about forty years
ago and settled in Pittston. She is survived by three brothers - David and John Daniels
of California and William Daniels, of Chase, Pa.; four daughters and one son - Mrs. Jenkin
Jones of Miner's Mills, Mrs. Thomas D. Thomas of Edwardsville, Mrs. Thomas W. Howells
of West Pittston, Mrs. David M. Davis of Scranton, and Daniel R. Jones of Lykena.
Twenty-one grandchildren survive her. Funeral on Wednesday afternoon at Welsh
Congregational Church of Pittston, in which city interment will be made."
