I am sorry to put a damper on your research but you are asking the
impossible. The first useful census was not until 1841 so that is no use to
you. They have not all been transcribed and indexed so even if the date was
viable it would be very unlikely to help you. To give you an idea of the
task there were 1251 men with the name William Price listed on the 1881
Census.
You need a place of birth before you can even start looking. An index of
births, marriages and deaths sinve 1837 is available on line but that is
obviously far too late for you. Before 1837 Parish Records and Bishops'
Transcripts are used but you need to know the parish where the event took
place.
I am very sorry to be so negative in my reply but I honestly can't think of
anything you can do unless you have some other information on the Prices. I
know that the name is strong in Radnorshire and Breconshire but it also
appears throughout Wales. I hope that someone else may have a suggestion.
