"Mrs. Susanna Jones, widow of David M. Jones of the Heights, died yesterday at the
residence of her son-in-law, Henry H. Prichard, outside foreman of No. 4 colliery,
Kingston, aged 78 years, of general debility. She was a native of Llandybie,
Carmarthenshire, and emigrated to the United States in 1871. Her husband died five years
ago. [Died 1 Jun 1895, at age 78.] She was a zealous member of the First Welsh
Congregational Church and was a member of that denomination from childhood. She leaves
four children - Rev. Morgan P. Jones of Marietta, Ohio; Mary, wife of Rev. William C.
Jones of Homestead, Pa.; Mrs. Gwilym M. Evans of the Heights; and Mrs. Henry H. Prichard,
at whose residence she died.
"The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock on Thursday from the daughter's
residence in Edwardsville. Rev. Dr. W.J. Richards will officiate. Interment will be in
Hollenback Cemetery. Scranton papers please copy."
